Select Library/Caches//Cache.db and move it to the trash. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. ![]() As far as I can see I have no plugins installed, I've tried Clear History, deleting Safari preferences file all to no avail.Running Safari on another user on the same machine works fine.Currently resorting to using Chrome but it is annoying that Safari won't work on this user. Once this happens my iMac will then run really, really slowly and I'll get loads of beach-balling so the only solution is to restart. But as soon as you go to a bookmarked website or click on the search bar and search for something Safari disappears and several moments later I get the "Safari quit unexpectedly message". It crashes on the first use every time it loads.If you don't do anything in the search bar when it loads you can do things like go to Preferences, Clear History, etc. This is the only Apple article I’ve been able to find If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues - Apple Support, but like I said I can’t access anything inside Safari so I haven’t been able to do anything with extensions.Īre there any other articles, or advice about what else I can try? ![]() I’ve also tried to clear plugins, but not sure I’ve been able to clear all that I need to because the problem still exists. I looked online for solutions and I’ve cleared caches that I can get to - Safari doesn’t stay open long enough for me to work from menu inside Safari, and there hasn’t been any change. I shut down my computer, came back to it and started it up, and Safari still crashed immediately. I checked for updates but everything is showing up to date (High Sierra 10.13.3). After that I restarted my Mac and attempted to open Safari, but it crashed as soon as it opened. ![]() I left my MAC on overnight and when I came back to it this morning, the webpage that had been up was frozen.
